3.          MATTERS ARISING

Flooding July 07 – The recent heavy rain tested the Woodlands entrance drainage, and while there was a build up of water this cleared quickly. Some sewage flooding had occurred in The Glebe and this was notified to Thames Water both by residents and by email.

Trees in Playground – It was confirmed that the trees remaining in the Playground would be thinned with dead wood removed but not lopped as this would spoil the shape.

A415, Newbridge – The clerk produced the flyers on HGV monitoring for distribution to all residents. Mr. Mathew said he has information from OCC that there is a possibility of the introduction of cameras to monitor HGV traffic on the bridge; he will be pressing for this action to be taken.

Traffic/Speeding – Enforcement action continues to be carried out on the Abingdon Road.

Highway Maintenance – There has still been no contact from Mr. Wilson (OCC Highways). Mr. Mathew has followed this up with Mr. Wilson’s superiors but he suggested a campaign of escalating emails to OCC.

Footpaths – Nothing further to report at this meeting..

Playground/Recreation Ground & Maintenance – Some woodwork damage has occurred to one of the items of play equipment and Mrs. Perry has arranged with Mr. Gary Pascoe for it to be repaired. In the meanwhile, Mrs. Perry will mark the item as out of action .

Graveyard Extension – Nothing further has been heard from Mr. Horan. Mr. Rippin said he would approach WODC for advice and also speak to Mr. Horan.

7.          MEMBER’S REPORTS

The hedges at the Cricket Club and The Wickets need cutting back from the footpath. Mr. Tolputt will speak.

Mr. Mathew said that the recent OCC planning meeting to consider the Stonehenge Farm application had descended into farce and the chairman’s decision to defer the decision even though a vote had gone against the application was being investigated. The provisional date for a rehearing was 21st July.

Mrs. Smith said that the No. 18 bus timetable was now displayed at the Post Office and she had sent copies to Northmoor.

The clerk reported that he had spoken to Mrs. Buckle about the use of the Youth Club Centre for meetings and had visited the centre. In his opinion the venue is suitable with parking available opposite at the school; the matter of fees is to be discussed with the club. It was agreed that the council would use this venue for a six month trial period.
