Standlake is situated on the A415 approximately 5 miles south of the market town of Witney in the County of Oxfordshire. The city of Oxford lies some 10 miles to the northeast. The River Windrush flows through the village and joins the River Thames at Newbridge, 2 miles to the south. Map As of January 2009, the population of Standlake is approximately 1300 and there are approximately 520 dwellings. The village supports a Church of England Primary School, with around 100 pupils, a Post Office and Stores, two Pubs (one closed for renovation as of Feb 2009), a full service garage plus numerous small to medium businesses located within the village and at two light industrial parks. |
